A lovely surprise was the spacious Double Room with a super-king bed, offering ample space for both guests and their dog. The original features of the property added character, while the free parking right outside was a big advantage. Breakfast included delicious yogurts but the bathroom could use some updates, as it felt a bit dated.

Amazing food and super friendly staff!
Just spent 4 nights here. The staff are really helpful and friendly, which made a big difference! The food was on another level—so tasty and loads of choices. Had some of the best meals I’ve had anywhere. Only thing, the lift was a bit dodgy, so keep that in mind if you’ve got heavy bags!

Balcony doors offered a view, but they didn't open. Proximity to the seafront and local attractions provided a solid base for exploration.
The hotel's decor feels worn, with some areas showing age. My stay was disrupted by early morning noise from bins and pigeons outside. Limited plug sockets posed a hassle, especially when needing to use multiple devices at once. One room had a noticeable chemical odor, which can be off-putting for sensitive noses. The absence of a bath meant only a shower, which felt constricted. A shortage of quality toilet paper added to the feeling of penny-pinching.

I recently spent a few nights at The Carlton and had a really good time. The location is perfect, right by the sea, making it easy to explore nearby attractions. The staff were friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in. My room was clean and had a lovely sea view, which was a definite highlight. I appreciated the tea and coffee facilities in the room—great for starting the day. Breakfast was impressive, with a good variety each morning, and I particularly enjoyed the vegetarian options. the bathroom had some maintenance issues. the window didn't stay open properly and the heating wasn’t consistent, which made it a bit uncomfortable at times. I did notice some noise from adjacent rooms during the night, which disrupted my sleep. Despite these few downsides, the positives outweighed the negatives.
